I need more ‘J’ names. So far I have Juniper and Jasmine. Please and Thank you!
I am so tired today. I was up all night Photoshopping Flat Stanley into pictures for my son Ben. The concept of Flat Stanley is a really cool one, and a great class project, although I haven’t gotten to read the book. From what Ben told me, Flat Stanley got flattened by a steam roller and is now as flat as a piece of paper. The kids all make their own Flat Stanleys and then they send them off to relatives that live far away. The relatives are then supposed to show Flat Stanley around the place where they live and take pictures. Unfortunately my mother came down with vertigo, so she asked me to Photoshop him into some of her pictures from other people visiting.
~~~~~Sunday~~~~~
The triplets are not lacking in opinions for what they should do today. Tag, chess, fishing, workouts, it’s all in there!
Ivy and Iris will probably become friends first since they tend to have similar desires.
The girls have a quick brunch with their Easy-Bakes before heading back to their weekend activities.
Immortelle is more concerned with logic at the moment. I really should have Hellebore come down and keep her company at some point. I don’t understand why children can have the wish to beat a ranked chess opponent, can invite over their next ranked chess opponent, but can’t actually challenge them.
The girls do spend some time working on what will turn into mechanical skills later in life. Not to mention it’s a great three-way socialization opportunity!
Timmothy is spending the day learning new recipes. Why are the recipes so expensive, and why do they disappear after being read? Oh well, at the moment Timmothy is ensuring that he can make the favorites of everyone living in the house.
Hellebore and Hazel spend the day creating in the study. How can they not create something amazing when they are surrounded by beautiful and unusual objects?
Ha! Now what will your excuse be for not working out?
Playing tag in the house is tons of fun when you have sarcophagi and dive wells and pushable statues! It’s almost like being able to play hide and seek.
“When I said I wanted to see a ghost I didn’t mean Grandma’s, honest!”
I know Iris, but your grandmother was 94 years old, it was just her time.
“Hazel, what will we do without her? She always took care of us, even after we were grownup.”
~~~~~Monday~~~~~
Two more days of this. I could cure them all, but somehow that just doesn’t seem right.
“Stupid grim reaper! Stupid death!”
This training dummy takes a lot of beatings meant for other people.
“School is a lot like home Dad, study, study, study, learn, learn, learn.”
Jessie asked me what I thought of Ambitions. The thing that excites me the most at the moment about Ambitions is that I’ll be able to do away with some of the really horrid home decor in other people’s houses. This house I hate, but there are others that are much worse.
~~~~~Tuesday~~~~~
“Eww! They just impaled that worm!”
“Not looking!”
“What’s the big deal? I don’t get it.”
Just a little television to quickly raise the triplets’ fun levels before school.
Timmothy’s working on his martial arts for work. It says gain a skill level, which he’s done multiple times, but I think he may need to reach level 5.
For some reason, Hazel has recently decided she’d like to take up writing. Why someone who enjoys having fun so much would want to take up one of the least fun activities, I have no idea. I suspect it’s so that she can avoid working out.
Hellebore has lifted the Forensic Analyst Restriction!
“A top level DNA Dynamic Profiler Sim will help paranoid Sims sleep soundly at night.”
- Sims may sleep in a bed or on a couch with the highest energy rating
Sweetie, smile, you just achieved your dream.
“What will I do now though?”
Well, for now you have to stay living with your sister and her family. Hazel and Timmothy both work the late shift, and the girls aren’t old enough to stay alone now. After they become teenagers you can get married to Tim and move in with him.
The only problem with this house is that there isn’t a lot of leftover outside space for games like tag and catch.
Hellebore may be in the house to babysit, but the girls are pretty self-sufficient.
Timmothy has lifted the Thief Restrictions!
“Once a Sim in the family rises to the title of Master Thief, they have enough influence in the criminal community to bully Vita’s mob into backing off and allowing self-employed thieves, kleptomaniacs and garbage rummagers to sell their stolen goods for full profit. After all, unorganized crime is better than organized crime, right?”
- Sims may commit crimes while at work in the Criminal career
- Sims may do something other than server their time if they are arrested
- Kleptomaniac Sims may swipe objects
- Sims may rummage through garbage bins
- Sims in the Criminal career track may keep items stolen at work
~~~~~Wednesday~~~~~
Hazel and Timmothy are spending the day at the library today. Timmothy is still working on recipes, and Hazel hasn’t given up on being a writer yet.
Apparently ‘All Recipes’ just means a total of 28 recipes.
The girls are working on individual skills today. Immortelle on the telescope, Iris is painting…
And then a bit of quick family bonding in front of the television before bed.
~~~~~Thursday~~~~~
Timmothy is almost level 5. If that doesn’t complete the opportunity I’m canceling it so he’ll be open for another one. (Thankfully, it did)
Hazel’s doing very well in the garden. The family even has EIGHT money trees now. Kaching!
Timmothy won’t eat it, but that is a PERFECT group meal of Lobster Thermidor. I’m sure Hellebore will be very grateful Timmothy. Why don’t you store it in the food replicator like a good boy, and then you can have something non-meat based.
Timmothy’s found his happy place, surrounded by gnomes, lol.
Now that they’re grown, Hellebore spends more time with the girls than their parents do. Man, are they ever going to be sad when she moves out.
~~~~~Friday~~~~~
Ivy’s first cake didn’t turn out so well, but I’m proud of her anyway. Her sisters aren’t far behind her in baking skills either.
Hazel has lifted the Electric Rock Restrictions!
“Once a Sim becomes a Rockstar, they provide some much needed entertainment to the house’s youngsters. With their minds finally stimulated, they can once again focus on school work and learning.”
- Children and teenagers may get help from other Sims to do homework, and may do their homework with other Sims.
- Children and teenagers may skill build with objects that do not raise fun
The Apocalypse is over and everything has been returned to normal!
“Well done dear, I’m sure my grandmother would have come out to thank you for fixing the last piece of the puzzle if it weren’t for the mysterious disappearance of her tombstone.”
~~~~~Saturday~~~~~
Good lord, suddenly everyone wants to be a writer!
Iris and Ivy want to spend the day fishing, which is fine by me.
Hellebore spends all her time trying to capture that illusive quality that makes a painting a masterpiece.
A nice shot of Ginger’s ghost meditating, just ’cause we all love ghosts!
Well done! So glad someone else has joined me in lifting the apocalypse! Well done on all the LTWs as well. The last generation(s) won’t know how good they’ve got it!
so… are you going to finish the story once the first child of generation 10 is born? the apocalypse is done, and soon the legacy will be. NOOOOO!!!
on a side note, i did the same flat stanley project when I was in 2nd grade. I remember all my relatives groaning about it, LOL.
Oh my goodness, I am so glad this worked out for you! You are truly an inspiration to those struggling with the Apocalypse Challenge. And just in time for your last legacy generation. Truly wonderful.
^_^ You are such an interior decorator at heart… How about these names:
Jonquil (Latin)- ornamental plant with fragrant yellow flowers
Jacinto (Spanish) – Hyacinth
Jardena (french) – garden
Jessenia (hebrew) – flower
Jaboticaba, Jackfruit, Jackwood
Congratulations!
How about Jacaranda? It’s a tree with beautiful lacy, flowy lavender colored flowers.
Or Japonica? Also known as the mountain fire tree?
I vote Jacaranda as a name, as it’s Australian (and there’s one at my mum’s house)
Rowan come back to us! We miss you!! *twitches from withdrawl*
gotta agree w/ you jessie? where are ya nightrowan?
Sorry guys, I’ve got some really bad RL stuff to deal with right now. As soon as I get it straightened out I’ll be back.
gosh, sorry to hear that. hope everything works out!
I cant wait for the next chapter… when will it bEeEeEe…?
This must be a some serious problem…
just so you know, I’m totally fine with your hiatus. My computer crashed on May 2nd so I’m kinda grateful that a huge black hole doesn’t swallow me up (I know that’s exaggeration, but I can’t find my serial code so I can’t install Sims 3
HAB, you can get a new serial code from EA if you registered your game after you bought it.
Rowan, how are you doing sweety? Is there anything we can do? (I know that option is limited but…)
but I didn’t register it
By the looks of it, nightrowan is throwing another party!
this is a great apocalegacy, please come back nightrowan! purty pleezh?
well, this blog is dead.
to Zoey-Gal-Simmer1108: no it’s not!
To Nightrowan: Please come back!!! Pretty please with a cherry on top?
i’m sorry, i didn’t mean to submit that twice
Zoe the blog not being active doesnt mean its dead. If you read the above response from NightRowan you’d know she’s having some serious problems RL.
Rowan: Just wanted to let you know we’re still thinking about you and hoping things get better for you soon.
what is RL
RL means REAL LIFE.
Real Life. Anything that takes precedence before computers, game consoles, table top gaming, etc. Example: School/Work, Family/Friends….
Okay guys, I think I’ve finally got my personal life relatively sorted out, so I’m gonna start working on the next chapter. Hopefully I’ll manage to get to Generation 10 (J) before the end of June when I’ll have all three of my kids at home. My teenager has already finished for the year, but he’s fairly self-sufficient and would rather chat online with his friends than spend time with his mother anyway. It may take another day or two for the next post though since I only got as far as Monday morning before my world came crashing down around my ears.
Thanks to all of you for the offers of help. I probably would have shared what was wrong just for the shoulders to cry on, but I have some people who know me in RL who read this that I didn’t want knowing about it. Thanks for all the patience, and as HAB (gosh you’re loyal) pointed out, it’s not dead, it was just taking a break.
awe, glad you’re back!
Hi Rowan, first congratumations on the apocalypse! Started reading this blog and couldn’t stop! just couldnt!
(I voted for Immortelle on accident, wanted to vote for Ivy but yeah :p)
This just wants to make me play again but i cant with exams for the next two weeks :’(
Sorry to hear about your problems, and glad to hear its sorta solved?
Please continue! id love to read more legacy stories from you!!
