What a crazy week! Monday my sister-in-law stopped by to pick up a CD of baby photos of my brother, Tuesday I did veggie shopping with my cousin (along with a quick stop at EB Games to pick up Ambitions), Wednesday my youngest was home with the flu, Thursday I did the rest of the grocery shopping and a tech visit, Friday was my youngest son’s Kindergarten graduation, and Saturday my husband decided to install the new window in the bedroom that the two youngest boys share, followed by a trip to Cowansville to pick up the eldest from his end of year trip with the Cadets and a visit to the antique car show. I hope my whole summer isn’t that crazy busy. Speaking of, it’s not sims related, but anyone have some ideas about at-home cheap one afternoon activities to do with the kids this summer? The oldest is the only one going to camp. Thank all that you hold holy for Cadet camps. Not only do we not have to pay, my son actually gets paid to attend!

~~~~~Sunday~~~~~
Today is a big day, but I let the family get off to a gentle start with some normal weekend activities.
“We heard there were big doings today, what’s up?”
“It’s my wedding day!”
Oddly, all the invite guests took off almost as soon as they’d arrive, but Dusty stuck around even though he wasn’t on the official guest list.
“It’s so beautiful…”
The guests may have taken off, but at least Hellebore’s closest family was there to witness the event.
A final kiss between Tim and Hellebore…
Goodbye Hellebore! Come back and visit us!
You two really can’t get enough of the fishing, can you?
Hazel is left in charge of socializing with the one remaining guest, while Timmothy and Immortelle play tag.
For the curious minded, this is Hellebore’s new home.
“Mom, birthday time! Mom?”
“Hmm? Yeah, in a sec…”
~~~~~Monday~~~~~

I think the garden may be getting too big. Hazel started working in it when the girls left for school, and she’s still working in it when they get home.

It’s easy to grow apart from your children when you spend all your time working on your career, or in this case, cooking and writing. Timmothy is determined to become closer to the girls again though. He’s still friends with all of them, but he’s the kind of father who wants to be his daughters’ best friend.

(This is as far as I got before my prolonged absence. It’s a bit difficult getting back into the swing of things, so bear with me.)

~~~~~Tuesday~~~~~
Immortelle still hasn’t decided what she wants to do with her life, and for the life of me, and I can’t remember anymore what I was aiming her at. I’m sure that I had it written down on a paper somewhere, but there are huge stacks of paper and photos in my office, I’m not even sure where to start looking. That’s if I haven’t accidentally tossed the paper in the garbage. In the meantime, she’s very into writing, so a bit of book reading before school seems in order.
“Rebeca, it’s 8 in the morning, I was up late holding a concert, and I haven’t had breakfast yet. What could possibly be so important?” ….. “No, I don’t want to hear about your toddler playing with his blocks, I want breakfast. I’ll call you later, okay?”
The household is beginning to wear on my nerves, the beds are never made. I’m a stickler for bed making. Mostly because if the bed is made it’s easier to ignore the rest of the mess in the room. Time for a maid.
“Oh my gosh! I can’t believe I’m working for Hazel! I love you! Can I have your autograph?!”
Everyone’s an author. I swear, as soon as they can’t think of something better to do, they all want to write….
I found that paper, so it’s time to start putting ideas in the girls’ heads.
I now have another issue facing me. None of the girls know any teenage boys. How is that even possible? Immortelle brought home Marie, and I toyed with the idea of a same-sex marriage, but Immortelle is your chosen heiress, so she needs to procreate, which kinda requires a man.
~~~~~Wednesday~~~~~

Hazel’s battle with the bulge is an ongoing thing. She just doesn’t seem to have a very good metabolism…

I’m sick of all the writers in this family, time for a new hobby.

We’ve had a few cooks in the family, but it’s never been anyone’s dream, so I’m aiming Iris in that direction.

~~~~~Thursday~~~~~
“No more staying up until two in the morning doing who knows what on the computer Immortelle! I mean it! You need your sleep. I can’t for the life of me understand how you keep your grades so high when your teachers tell me that you’re always asleep in class.”
I find it highly amusing to have all my sims be so into gardening. You see, I’m very into the environment, but I have a black thumb and I shun the sun since I inherited my grandmother’s British skin. I’ve actually been known to get a sun burn with SPF 90 on, while sitting on a covered porch. It’s really too bad I’m not a goth, because I don’t need any base or costume makeup to have a vampiric skin tone.
I managed to convince Timmothy that a little bit of balance was required in his life, so now he alternates martial arts and writing. It’s slightly less boring.
Hazel has plenty of hobbies and little time for concerts. She gardens, she swims, she writes, she attempts to charm snakes…
“This place is a hovel!”
This place is one of the original safe houses. It’s amazing looking back and realizing just how far your family has come.
Well what do you know?! Stargazing really does inspire the dream to become an astronaut!
~~~~~Friday~~~~~

Fishing for the Science Facility, yet again. Don’t these guys ever experiment on anything else?

“How come Ivy gets to go fishing and we’re stuck studying?”

Because Ivy had an Opportunity, and she was in desperate need of some fun.

Every now and then Timmothy and Hazel manage to make time for each other, even if it is in the wee hours of the morning.

This shot reminded me a bit of the mini-series Alice. I totally fell in love with Andrew Lee Potts as the Hatter.

~~~~~Saturday~~~~~
Ivy had her fun yesterday, therefore today she must suffer.
Saturday is always for skilling, you all know that, but I do allow for a bit of family interaction.
“The Army?!?! My little girl wants to join the army? But you could get hurt!”
“I’ll be fine Daddy. You can teach me martial arts and I’ll kick the enemies so hard their great-great-great-grandchildren will be hurting.”
As your chosen heiress, Immortelle must learn the all important gardening skill on top of all the other skills I’m making her work on. Poor thing, and still no boys in sight.
***I’ve decided that since it was so long between updates, and it will more than likely take me a few days to get out Week 52 that I’m going to leave the poll open and enable everyone to vote twice, which means if you’ve already voted you can either not vote, vote for the same girl again, or vote for a different girl if you’ve changed your mind***
I’ve now got two sims working on their handiness skill, and of course both of them want to upgrade things. I think I may have to install a useless bathroom somewhere for them to tinker to their hearts content.
Until Next Time, Happy Simming!
    great chapter! For some reason the poll won’t let me re-vote, and now I’m leaning more toward Iris than Ivy. Oh well!
    :D
    • All right, since apparently I’m still having poll issues, here’s what we’re going to do. I’m closing the original Gen I poll and opening a second one. Votes from the first poll will count for 1 point, and votes from the second poll will count for 2. This should weight the difference enough for those who have changed their minds. I hope it’s not too inconvenient for anyone.
    Its good to see you writing again. And you havent lost the swing of things.
    I think Ivy looks like Grape in the face a bit. I love all of them so I’m afraid I can’t vote!! :(
    Thank you SO MUCH for coming back!! <3 <3 <3
  • I hope Ivy wins! She was ahead for a long time while you were gone.
    Immortelle’s traits look like they’re headed toward the Tinkerer LTW.
