Day 225 – Sunday
“My fingers aren’t meant to bend this way I tell you!”
Yeah, I tried to learn guitar and ran into that problem too. Couldn’t get my fingers into the right positions, and my nails were constantly in the way even though they’re fairly short for a woman.
And yes, she’s allowed, her assigned restriction is Symphonic.
Jarod’s on repair duty for now. After that it’s back to Cookin’ Cable.
Hmm… Apparently the locals are protesting jellyfish. Weirdos. That won’t stop Brigitte from taking advantage of the gathering to test out her new guitar skills.

Day 226 – Monday
I didn’t feel like sending them to the library today, so they’ll just have to write at home.
Normally I don’t make the kids do their homework on their birthdays since it’s pointless, but Jarod insisted.
Woo! Big day! The first Gen 5er becomes a Young Adult!
Happy Birthday Jarod!

I wonder if Latricia would be interested in being a stylist?
Yes, it’s finally time to get rid of the overly powerful Architecture restrictions.
Day 227 – Tuesday
Jarod can’t seem to get a passing review on his first renovation even though it’s got everything Stella asked for, plus a bookcase. I guess he’s going to go home and work on getting some promotions before he tries any more renovating.
I had Jarod wait until now to work on his painting because it will advance his career. I don’t particularly care about reviews as long as he reaches the top.
Poor Scott, some sims are just jerks.
Day 228 – Wednesday
Devin’s decided to play with his Architect’s table today. Whatever. No more renovations until you’re level 5.
Everyone else is of course writing or doing homework, the poor slobs.
Day 229 – Thursday
One more promotion Jarod, then I’ll consider letting you take on jobs.
The girls have been playing chess almost constantly lately. Painting just raises fun too slowly, and after thinking about it a bit, I’m not sure if Brigitte is allowed her guitar before she joins the music profession. I’m not going to take away her skill points (there were quite a few hours involved) but I am going to make her wait before she earns anymore.
The fridge is full of leftovers, so why is Jarod cooking his supper? Because from what I understand the LTW associated with Architecture is pretty much impossible with a Normal lifespan, which is why he chose Renaissance Sim instead. Cooking is one of his three skill choices. He’s not doing badly at it either since he’s already got seven.
Day 230 – Friday
Well, yeah, she probably will rummage through people’s garbage cans, but she hasn’t yet.
Level 5, I guess we can go attempt a renovation now.
It took me awhile to figure this out. For those who haven’t figured it out, you have to begin your renovations, return to live mode, and then choose to take measurements. Unfortunately this house has seven bedrooms and Jarod decided he needed to measure at least three of them. Time wasting, grr…
Here’s hoping Uncle Pablo likes the renovations. I’m concerned about the environment score.
Nope, it’s got a +10 Decorated, but apparently that’s not good enough. Grr.
I eventually figured out that it wasn’t the room I renovated that he had an issue with, it was the fact that the house didn’t have a stove or shower. Doh! I guess the next renovation will be easier.
With that horrid, yet educational, experience out of our way, Scott and I decide to take on one more job for the day. It’s already 5pm thanks to Uncle Pablo, but we’re going to give it a shot, or at least get taking the measurements out of the way.
Day 231 – Saturday
Where are you off to this morning Jarod?
“It was Latricia’s birthday last night. I’m going to go propose to her right now before any of the town Lothario’s can put the moves on her.”
Good thing it’s Catherine’s birthday tonight, or I wouldn’t know what to do with her.
I really like this girl, she has sensible taste in clothes.
Man, those nasty rumours get everyone eventually.
I think she may be a wee bit shocked. After all, she’s what? Like 20 years old maybe?
Not that that stopped her from saying “Yes!”

Latricia may want a career in Science, but I need her to get rid of Director so that someone can take Actor.
After that I sent her off to the library. Her only current wants are to earn a handiness skill point. She can do that, but then she has to earn at least one charisma point so that she can earn more just through socializing with the family. And oh yeah, more writing, joy.
Scott and Chloe have taken up residence down the road since I’m not allowing any more elders to die on the lot until Paranormal is lifted. Plus fewer sims means I can pay attention to the sims I had. That and to be honest, they were boring.
Hmm, I could have sworn that I did something about the flippers as active wear…
Lois and Ana! There’s no music!
I swear researching Architectural Design is more effective than actually doing renovations.
Happy Birthday Catherine!

Swimming In Cash
“Not bad for our first time, but I think we need to keep practicing until we’re experts! ::giggle::”
Originally I had planned for Jarod’s spouse to lift Criminal Mastermind. Then I realized that with the amount of cash the family has coming in, as annoying as that restriction is, there are more important ones. What I’m anxious to get done is The Amazing Naturalist (after the current lifts) but I’m thinking that I may need Actor lifted to do it. I was so ticked when I reread the restrictions and realized that I couldn’t have Latricia lift Actor. Some of you may be wondering how the celebrity levels keep going up. It’s not based just on who you know, but for that part of it, they befriend people in school who later become famous, or at work who are already famous. It helps that most of the family just kind of feeds the fame of each other. Oh yeah, I finally got The Swirling Sands Library up to 2-Stars, but I’m thinking it won’t reach 3 until Architecture is lifted. Thank all that’s holy that I only need to top it, and not fulfill the associated LTW.

About the same time that someone is spreading rumors, theres someone who is no longer a friend. Just keep up with friends and you’ll be fine. I’ll send you a list of traits and bonuses for the architecture career. Makes things easier.
Don’t worry about the list Jess, I’ve got one from Carl’s. It’s not the traits that mess me up, it was initially that the houses had none of the basics. After that, I think it’s because sims seem to want an extraordinary amount of space around each object, though I haven’t been getting as many cluttered comments as I used to.
